Refresher Child Protection

The refresher child protection course was due to Ms. Hill by today, Friday Sept. 3rd.  Thanks to all who completed this on time!

Medicines/Inhalers

Students that are required to take medicine during school hours must have the proper paperwork on file and must be able to self medicate themselves.  No faculty or staff member can give your child medicine.  All medicine is locked in a cabinet in the school office. If a student has an inhaler, they must have the proper paperwork on file, but can keep the inhaler with them.

Latchkey

Please remember to send a note with your child if they are to leave latchkey to attend a practice or a game and are not getting signed out by an adult.

PLEASE READ

Remember it is illegal to run through a bus’ stop sign.  When the bus is stopped to drop off in the morning or is here to pick up in the afternoon you CANNOT pass the bus or turn onto the street between the Church and the parking lot.  The bus will have its lights flashing and the stop sign out when students are loading and unloading.  The drivers have been instructed to turn your license plate number into the police right away.  The drivers are looking out for the safety of their passengers.  ALSO you are not to use your cell phone in a school zone!

Baked Goods

All birthday treats or any other special occasion treats must be store/bakery bought.  No homemade treats may be brought in to share with other students.

Fall Festival

Mark your calendar for St. John’s Parish Fall Festival on Sunday, Sept. 12th.  Chicken and dumpling lunch will be served beginning at 11 and bingo starts at 1:30.

Auction

There will be an auction meeting on Sunday, Sept. 12th at 6:00 PM.  Mark your calendars and plan on attending.

Junior Youth Group

We will not be able to have a meeting in September.  Watch for info on our October meeting!

Fun…Fun…Fun…

We need volunteers to help work a few game stands at the Red Bud Blossom City Autumn Fest on Saturday, Sept. 11th.  The Chamber of Commerce has graciously offered to donate the profits from the stands to SJB in return for us working.  This is also a great opportunity to promote SJB within our community.  Please contact Robin Menard-Netemeyer at robin@htc.net or 282-6024 if you can help in any way.  The event begins at 4:00 PM and ends around 10:00 PM.

Youth Day Celebration

Enclosed in your Friday envelope is an invitation from St. Boniface inviting your children to their Youth Day celebration.  We are sending this information to all students in grades 3 – 8.  It is the day of our Fall Festival but this may be something your child would enjoy attending with his/her friends.
